Litter Hotspots Project

Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Group 2012

The Litter Hotspots Project addresses localised litter issues by providing targeted funding and grants programs to support local government, business  and community partnership initiatives. The Litter Hotspots Project’s key objectives are to:

  • support the implementation of best practice litter prevention projects
  • develop partnerships in order to capacity-build litter prevention projects
  • improve personal responsibility for litter disposal and prevention
  • improve the amenity of public spaces that impact upon the water quality of the Yarra River and Port Phillip Bay

MWRRG has initiated and is managing the Litter Hotspots Project, bringing all parties together, guiding the strategic direction and assisting all parties with planning and implementing best practice initiatives.
